The description of our bear hunts is directly connected to the greatness of the Yakutat area. Boasting many miles of sandy beaches and the largest glaciers of North America with Mt. St. Elias presiding over it all, this is truly a place worth visiting!   The Yakutat forelands has some of the finest salmon spawning grounds in the state which support a very strong brown bear population as shown by the length of our hunting season  September 1- May 31st.   We run 10 day hunts in the spring and fall.  Spring hunts are tent based and are primarily spot and stalk.  These can also be combined with black bear.  The fall hunts are lodge or tent based and are more up close and personal, as we hare hunting in the alder chocked creeks filled with spawning salmon. We have an 80% success rate with and 8 1/2 foot average with some bears nearing 10 feet.  Come share and adventure with us!
